About the Recipe

This simple recipe is a perfect side dish, packed with robust flavor if you like garlic. Serve with chicken, fish, pot roast or turkey.

Ingredients

  • 5-6 large russet potatoes

  • 6-7 garlic cloves (peeled)

  • 1 1/2 sticks butter

  • a pinch of Sea Salt

  • a pinch of fresh ground pepper

  • 1/2 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Peel the potatoes leaving a little of the skin on. Chop the potates into 1/4 inch chunks.

Step 2

Boil a large pot of water, add a pinch of salt to the water. Add the potatoes and reduce heat to medium. Let the potatoes simmer approximately 20 minutes until the potatoes are softened. Drain and return the potates to the pot.

Step 3

Peel the garlic cloves and boil in a pot of water for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Add part of the butter and milk to the potatoes and mash the potatoes with a potatoe masher (or a mixer), add the remaining butter and milk and continue mashing until the potatoes are well blended but still have a bit of texture.

Step 4

Add a dash of salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley flakes (if desired). Serve hot.
